FACING DEATH AND DYING
Some of the hardest conversations are those that revolve around dying .. and yet they are also often the most important conversations that people recount. Our dying, or the dying of someone dear to us, offers us the opportunity to say things we will never have another opportunity to say. It's our opportunity to tell people how much we love them, how they have impacted us, what we wish for them .. and how much we are already miss them when it becomes so palpably clear that the time left to us is ever so brief. Too often we hear about how people regret not having spoken what was close to their heart while they had the chance. It doesn't have to be this way. It's up to us to respond differently. It's up to us to be courageously willing to engage in those precious and life honouring conversations.
